characteristics

Hello, this is a word cloud about all the nice things my class mates have said about me. first, we got a piece of paper and wrote our name on it. We fold it so our name shows, then hand it to our left. When we get it back, our pieces of paper are folded like a fan, with characteristics. Then, we put the key words into a doc, and copied all the word then pasted it into our word cloud.

Numeracy

WALT: Solve decimals problems using our knowledge of place value in numbers that involve tenths, hundredths and thousands.

For Numeracy, we learnt how to add and subtract decimals. Here is my work.  I wrote random numbers and turned them into decimals. I soon figured out the answer to all the questions.

Literacy

WALT: Use high level punctuation correctly e.g. exclamation marks, question marks, speech marks, apostrophes AND brackets, colons, semi colons.
For literacy, I wrote a paragraph about a scene in the book that my favourite character {Wilbur} is in. This is the scene when Wilbur tries to spin a web.
I found it hard to fit in some of the punctuation marks.

For word work, I did silly sentences. Here are my sentences. The words highlighted green are my spelling words.

Banqer

This is a screen shot of my banqer dashboard.  It shows how much money I've earnt.  By the end of next week, I would like to have earnt another $300.

The Year Of The Dog

What Is 30bc?

This term, we started reading books for 40bc. 40bc is a challenge were you read 40 books through the year. Because we started in term two, we missed out one term so we decided to do 30bc instead.

About the book: It's the Chinese year of the dog and Pacy's mum tells her that its a good year too 'find yourself', which Pacy has trouble with. She has heaps more too deal with through the year, like making a new best friend, discovering why the Year Of he Dog is lucky for her after all.

GENRE'S in this book: Realistic Fiction, children, family, fiction and cultural.

Here are some of the characters: Pacy Lin {main character, also known as Grace Lin}, Kiki {Pacy's little sister}, Lissy {Pacy's big sister, also known as Beatrice}, Melody {Pacy's new Best Friend}, and Albert {Pacy's baby cousin}.

Numeracy

For numeracy, I made a slide presenting my work in time zones.

I learnt how too compere time and figure out how many hours behind or ahead a country or city is too another country or city. We used this website too figure it out.

Literacy - writing

For literacy, we wrote a report about spiders because we are reading Charlotte's Web and there is a spiders called Charlotte in the story. I learnt about spiders and where they live.
Spider Report

Habitat

Some spiders live on webs, and some don’t. An example is the Peacock spider which lives in trees, and the Tunnel spider that lives on a web.Spiders can live in holes, webs, trees and more different places. Spiders are found all over the world, every continent except Antarctica. An example is the white tail spider which is found in southern and eastern Australia. White tail spiders got bought to New Zealand, so you would also find them there.

Appearance

Spiders aren’t insects, they're arachnids. They all have eight hairy long legs, which helps them hear and smell. They don’t have ears or a nose, but they have hairy legs that can sense vibration and loud sounds. They still have eight eyes that can see, so they know what they're doing. Some spiders are colourful and some are plain black, grey, white or brown. For example, the peacock spiders have a small rainbow tail, while the white tail spider has a long black body.

Life Cycle

The spider egg is laid, and they wait too hatch. Soon, the baby spiders hatch, and most look small and cute. For example, the peacock spider babies don’t have colourful coats, they have brown legs and body, not colourful tails. The babies grow up too an adult spider, then they mate. Some spiders have a dance they do to impress the females. If the female doesn’t feel impress, they will kill the male. If they feel impressed they will make babies. The cycle continues again from the start.

Topic

For topic, I made a slide about the time line of ANZAC soldiers. I learnt about the ANZAC timeline., and what they did in the war. I found it a little bit hard at the start, but I learnt a lot of facts in the war when I read the journal.

For art, we made ANZAC pictures. I learnt how too shade and blend with pastels. It was hard, but it got easier once I got started.
