Literacy Reflection T1 W9

Word Work

This week for Word Work, I did Meanings, Word Origins, Sentences and for my fun activity, I did Syllabification. 
Meanings: Google the word and find the meaning, then write it in our own words.
Word Origins: Google the word and find the origins, then write them down eg. Pronounce: Latin, French, Engish.
Sentences: Write the word into a sentence.
Syllabification: put a '-' between each syllable eg. sy-lla-ble.

Writing
This week for writing, we did our Camp Reflections. We had to turn our 5W's bullet-points into paragraphs.

Chess Nuts

Genre: Childrens


Characters: Anna, Jackson, Flash,

Jackson is sporty and popular. He's not the type that would join a Chess Squad, and Anna doesn't want him there. But when he plays Anna, he nearly won. Now he is in the Chess Squad and is competing with the others. What will happen next...?

40bc Book 1

Author: Dan Gemeinhart


Genre: Adventure


Characters: Beau the dog, Mark (Main character), Jessie (Mark's best friend)


This story is about a boy named Mark. He is like everyone else his age, he loves his dog, best friend Jessie and hiking. But what they don't have is Cancer. When he becomes sick again, he decides he's had enough of hospitals. So he runs away from home, with his dog Beau for company and a plan to climb to the top of Mount Rainier, even if its the last thing he ever does.


I would give this book a rating of  5 out of 5  stars


I recommend this book for 9 to 13 year olds because it is a very good book and makes me cry.

Numeracy Reflection W7 T1

Maths Buddy
This week fr numeracy we have been doing Maths Buddy. We learnt about 2 by 1 digit multiplication and how to do it. We watched two example videos that you can watch one here.

We also had to do some of our own examples. Here are mine.

Weekly Revision
This week we also did our weekly revision. I got 87% right. I am happy with my results and can't wait to do next weeks.

Literacy Reflection W7 T1

Shantytown 
This week we learnt lots of facts about Shantytown. We learnt how to Write a good introductions using the 5W's. My buddy was Reagan and here is our work so far. I think our work is good 

Word Work
This week for Word Work, I had to Decode the words. TO do that, I had to Google the word and rewrite the meaning in my own words. Here is my work.

Spine Poem
This Thursday, Mrs Costello taught us about spine poems. We had to collect 6 books and put them in an order to make a poem. It was really fun and I really want to do it again. Me and Megan made two, here is our work.
