Thelma Ekin Visit - The Mine's Afire

Today, we had one of the authors of The Mine's Afire, Thelma Eakin come on and talk to us. We asked her questions and she gave us the answers. I was happy with the way the classes behaved and listened, and it was very interesting hearing what the author thought of her book. She also brought in a few things to show us: A safety lamp and a brass mini replica of the memorial statue on the flood wall.

    Hey Hannah,
    Thank you for sharing your thoughts about Thelma's visit. I really enjoyed her coming in and found her really interesting to listen to as she talked about her book. I didn't realise that she had written a play about the Brunner Mine too!
