Literacy
This is what the geckos have been learning for literacy.
I learnt about water and what the water cycle is. We are remembering to comprehend what we read.
Numeracy
In maths I have been learning how to use multiplication strategy to solve problems.
Exercise 1
What to do
Use the information given to you to derive the answer to a similar problem.
- If 9 × 20 = 180 what is 9 × 21 ? 189
- If 8 × 30 = 240 what is 8 × 31 ? 248
- If 4 × 40 = 160 what is 4 × 42 ?168
- If 5 × 50 = 250 what is 5 × 51 ? 255
- If 3 × 60 = 180 what is 3 x 62 ? 186
- If 2 × 70 = 140 what is 2 × 73 ? 161
- If 4 × 80 = 320 what is 4 × 82 ? 328
8) If 2 × 90 = 180 what is 2 × 94 ? 180
Exercise 2
What to do
Use the information given to you to derive the answer to a similar problem.
1) If 9 × 20 = 180 what is 9 × 19 ? 171
2) If 8 × 30 = 240 what is 8 × 29 ? 232
3) If 7 × 40 = 280 what is 7 × 39 ? 273
4) If 5 × 50 = 250 what is 5 × 49 ? 245
5) If 3 × 60 = 180 what is 3 × 58 ? 174
6) If 2 × 70 = 140 what is 2 × 67 ? 134
7) If 4 × 80 = 320 what is 4 × 78 ? 312
8) If 2 × 90 = 180 what is 2 × 86 ? 172
Exercise 3
What to do
Use the information given to you to derive the answer to a similar problem.
- If 9 × 20 = 180 what is 9 × 22 ? 198
- If 7 × 30 = 210 what is 7 × 32 ? 224
- If 5 × 40 = 200 what is 5 × 43 ? 215
- If 4 × 50 = 200 what is 4 × 51 ? 204
- If 3 × 60 = 180 what is 3 × 61 ? 183
- If 6 × 70 = 420 what is 6 × 73 ? 426
- If 6 × 80 = 480 what is 6 × 81 ? 486
- If 8 × 90 = 720 what is 8 × 92 ? 736
This is how I worked it out. The question is 9 x 22. I know that 9 x 20 is 180, 9 x 2 is 18 so 180+18=198.
Hi Hannah,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your writing. I remember the typhoons, too. They could be scary, especially up in our cottage. Do you remember having no power for two days? And how Baba had to try to reconnect our water pipe from the stream?
Hi Hannah,
ReplyDeleteYour writing brings back my memory of the super heavy rains at our cottage. I was always worried and could not sleep well when they happened. I worried the rain will increase the creek water level around us too high and wash our way out. Now we are so lucky to live in a nice house without worrying!

Hi Mum and Baba,
ReplyDeleteI miss the cottage very much and wish that we can bring the cottage to NZ when we go back next year.Every night, I always thought that the dots on the walls were cockroaches and would hide under my blanket.
How are you enjoying your trip back to Taiwan?
Bye
