Algebra

This week for numeracy, Mr Kumar has been teaching us about Algebra. It seems scary when you hear it, but it's actually super easy. We did a few work sheets around it, then we got this slide explaining it further.  I actually like this Algebra, and would like to try something harder.

✃ Shapes and Angles

This week we have been learning about how to measure interior angle sums, interior angles and exterior angles of any shape. This was quite new, though it was ok since we knew what the shapes were.

To measure the interior angle sum, you take the number of sides of a shape minus 2, then times that by 180. Next, we find the interior angle. Take the interior angle sum divided by the number of sides. Finally the exterior angle. The equation to find this is 180 - interior angle.

In simpler words,

{ NUMBER OF SIDES - 2 } x 180 = INTERIOR ANGLE SUM

{ INTERIOR ANGLE SUM } ÷ { NUMBER OF SIDES} = INTERIOR ANGLE

180 - { INTERIOR ANGLE } = EXTERIOR ANGLE

Interpreting Timetables

For the past 2 weeks, T2 have been working on reading timetables for buses, airplanes and subways. We got given Workbooks with timetables, and had to answer the questions that followed them. It wasn't that hard for me to do because I have done these types of things when I lived in Taiwan. Here are my workbooks!

Week 8 Maths

This week, I have been doing mostly maths. I am in the Galileos, and we had to do our basic facts, maths maintenance sheet, maths buddy tasks, and a workbook. I have done all of these. I'm happy with the way I worked, and I think I did pretty good.

2 DIgit by 2 Digit Multiplication

Today, we have been doing some 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication. Here is a slide we looked at to help us learn how to do it. We had to solve the last slide by ourselfs in our maths book.

writing!

this week for writing, Mr. Wood told us to try and write a 50 word story. I found this really fun because I already had an idea of what I was going to write in my head. my first try had 79 words which is very far from 50 :") because it was so long, I had to try and shorten it. it was very hard to get rid of words and make it 50 words long and I only managed to get rid of 10. Here are my first and second tries!

this week we also did a lot of maths work. I learnt how to subtract and add fractions. here is a slide with how to do subtraction with fractions!!

Angles! (and a bit of mathsbuddy)

This week, we have been focusing on Angles. We had to do a slide that has lots of angle tasks. We also watched a video together as a class, and I think it really helped, though the transitions were quite funny~ (> ^ <)/\(> w <)

I also did some Mathsbuddy tasks. On one of them, I got 80%. I'm going to try again sometime and aim for 100%.

Here are some of my basic fact certificates that I did! I did best on the first one, because I got 92% on Stage 7, but the second one I got 75% on stage 8, which is also pretty good for me 😃
