I read The green glass sea for my second 30bc book. The book is about the Manhattan project.t is 1943, and 11-year-old Dewey Kerrigan is travelling west on a train to live with her scientist father {but no one will tell her exactly where he is.}  
Dewey likes too go to the dump a lot to collect random items. Here are some characters: Dewey, Suze, Mrs. Gordon {Suze's mum}, Dr. Gordon {Suze's dad}, Oppie.
